INVERTER

We use a 5 Kva Pure Sine wave 48 volt dc - 230 volt ac 50 hertz inverter. It has the capability to increase to 10 Kva for short periods.

This feeds directly into the house, pure sine wave is important so we can use all our house appliances safely, including computers and the ever important sky decoder.

You can also run a generator through your inverter so that when your battery bank gets around the 47 volt dc mark, the generator will start automatically. The inverter we use doesn`t have this ability, all we do is keep an eye on the battery level and turn the generator on manually though a 3 way switch. This is a huge saving in power usage as inverters capable of this function use more power to operate.

If you are going to use a generator that starts automatically, you have to use one that doesn`t need a choke to start.

A remote display showing battery voltage is also handy, so allow for cabling into the house. There are bluetooth remote displays available also.
